Wonderful World 1000 pcs Maria Rabinky
Puzzle Number: G7098
Puzzle Description
This puzzle is strictly for puzzlers who want to have fun. No one else need apply. It's called Wonderful World and has one thousand pieces. A two thousand piece version is also in the catalogue. Maria Rabinky, the artist, has several other puzzles in the Gibsons catalogue all related to modern fun observations of national and international icons that most travelers and non-travelers will recognise. From East to West almost every country; whether it's a structure, old or new, think pyramids or The Empire State Building or natural flora and fauna such as Antarctica's penguins or historical landmarks such as Machu Picchu in the Peruvian highlands, it's all there and it's fabulously displayed. This puzzle no doubt is great for anyone with imagination.
The view of the map tilts away from the viewer in what is itself a feat of map drawing. And then to manage to insert all the points of interest, including African elephants, Peruvian llamas, and several Mongolian camels with two humps, there, ladies and gentlemen, you have a one of a kind master work. History is also there, which in no small part has a lot to do with this puzzle. There, in the middle and quite small is the Santa Maria galleon belonging to Christopher Columbus on his way to the New World in 1492. High above, flying over the North Pole there's a very twentieth century Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet transcending the continents in no time at all compared to weeks at sea.
Let's not forget Maria's nod to Canada. There's the ubiquitous CN Tower in Toronto, moose (why not) and some first nation individuals dressed up as Eskimos: how quaint. There are even a couple of iconic structures from our Classical past. There is beautiful miniature drawing of the Parthenon high atop a tine Acropolis in Athens and just to its left, we see the only slightly more recent Coliseum in Rome. Whatever your fancy, whether it's historical or a famous landmark or some exotic wild creature this puzzle will surely give weeks of pleasure and at two thousand pieces, will require quite a bit of space. Good luck!
A Wonderful World (G8018) measures 68 x 49 cms when complete and is made of 100% recycled premium puzzle board and can be made over and over again for years.
