Puzzle Description

Deckchairs & Donkeys is a 1000 piece puzzle by Val Goldfinch. The British seaside and all its glamour is represented in this uniquely British taste of seaside life. All the healthy forms of nutrition are to be found in abundance whether its rock, fish &chips or ice cream you'll remember seaside delicacies for a long time. Seaside huts are stll ubiquitous and are rented for family visits by the weekend or even by the season. These multi-coloured huts are inexpensive and very basic and are found usually jammed one against the other. Of course for the more upmarket clientele there are grander accommodations which are on an altogether different scale of luxury.

Piers are also very popular with the most famous being Blackpool pier and Brighton Pier. Just to highlight the popularity of the piers, Blackpool West Pier was destroyed twice within the last twenty years due to arsonists and was finally never rebuilt. The fact the entire structure was made of wood allowed the pier to be burnt to a hulk in a very short order. Brighton Pier suffered a similar fate and was also burnt down. Still, the remaining piers in both Blackpool and Brighton remain as busy as ever. The piers have vertiginous rides, dodgems, tea rooms which also serve beer and even have a few slot machines. You can rent a deckchair on the pier and arrange it up against the rail and watch life go by, which is really quite pleasant.

The sea itself has its own charms which seem to appeal the the younger crowd as the water is not too warm and is often quite shallow out to a great distance. Paddling is a definite possibility with candy floss in hand what could be more delightful?

There are a few barbeques but that never took off like it did in North America with it's easier automobile access and truly enormous beaches. Still fish and chip stalls are everywhere so you'll never go hungry. You might even find a politically incorrect Punch and Judy show here and there but their time is quickly coming to an end.
